senior Citizens' Tea Party Brings Generations Together
On Thursday 18th December, students from Year 8 and the Sixth Form played a truly exceptional role in making this year’s Ashcombe Tea Party a heart‑warming and memorable occasion. Their commitment, kindness, and enthusiasm shone throughout the event, and we would like to extend our sincere thanks to every student involved.
The feedback from our guests has been overwhelmingly positive. Many commented on how respectful, thoughtful, and considerate our students were — behaviour that not only impressed but also deeply touched the older members of our community. Several guests remarked that the students had restored their faith in the younger generation, reminding them of how compassionate and inspiring today’s young people can be.
It was wonderful to see Miss Ramsdale attend with her nan, and a particular highlight of the afternoon was meeting a great‑grandmother aged 103, who proudly came to support her Ashcombe great‑grandchild.
Our students provided fantastic entertainment throughout the afternoon. They played beautiful music, shared jokes that filled the hall with laughter, and spent time chatting warmly with our senior citizens — helping to create an atmosphere full of joy, connection, and genuine community spirit.
We received an array of glowing emails from attendees, all praising the students and the event itself. Their messages describe the Tea Party as uplifting, well organised, and full of heart — a testament to the hard work and character of our young people.
To our students, we are incredibly proud of you. Your efforts brought happiness to so many and made a meaningful difference to our community. Thank you for representing Ashcombe so brilliantly.
