Uganda Trip 2019

In July, 15 students along with 3 teachers, had the once in a lifetime opportunity to visit Uganda, in partnership with Build Africa, the charity that we have worked with for several years. Before the visit, the students had worked hard at raising a considerable amount of money (£15,000) through a variety of imaginative fund-raising events and this achievement held the group in good stead for the visit to communities in Masindi and further cultural experiences in Kampala and Entebbe.

They visited a number of schools in the Masindi area and spent time with rural farming communities, learning about the systems used to ensure that parents save money to ensure that their children can attend school.

The trip has made a significant impression on the students that participated. The warmth, energy and positivity of Ugandan teachers, farmers and pupils that they met, will live long in the memory.
