Royal Courts of Justice
The Criminology department took 24 Year 13 A Level students from across all social science courses to the Royal Court of justice in London for a very exciting murder trial workshop.
The students learnt about the law and justice system, exploring a contemporary case looking at cyberbullying, knife crime, drugs offences, hate crime or murder, or a historical case examining theft in the Victorian period, Suffragettes, protest, murder or capital punishment a contemporary or historical case.
They prepared and presented a mock trial, taking on all the courtroom roles including judge, clerk, usher, barrister, solicitor, witness and jury member, as well as sentencing.
