Eezykit make it look simple
Setting up companies to learn the realities of business, trading, marketing and delivery under the Young Enterprise Company Programme has been a part of the offer for Year 12 students at The Ashcombe School for many years. In addition to the skills and experiences they encounter, teams also have the opportunity to qualify to take part in the Surrey Finals of Company of The Year. Operational since October 2023, Eezykit, set up and run by eight Sixth Formers, has developed a very innovative product, based on their research and the needs and experiences of fellow Duke of Edinburgh's Awards participation.
Eezykit is a ready-made, prepared kit filled with the essential items for trips and adventures - Duke of Edinburgh expeditions, festivals, camping and general outdoor activities - all in a sustainable bag which is re-usable, lightweight and made from a soft material, making it the perfect alternative use for a wash bag or makeup bag! With a company goal to encourage people to go out and enjoy the outdoors, this stylish ready-made pre-packed kit removes the ‘what have I forgotten’ from adventures.
The Surrey Finals against several independent schools and one other state school, was held at Epsom College on Tuesday evening, 7th May 2024. After setting up their stand, four members of the team were quizzed by three lots of judges, and then had a strictly monitored four minutes to make a presentation addressing several key areas, including finances and overcoming challenges. The team were delighted to be awarded the prize for Sustainability, in recognition of their sourcing of bags (and where possible, contents) which had the highest ethical standards. The team also had to produce an eight section Company Report to detail the development of the company.
Their biggest success has undoubtedly been growing a very active social media presence, using TikTok to drive interest to the sales platform. Well done Rachel, Freddie, Parla, Emmy, Luc, Teddy, Daisy and Natasha!
