Careers Fair 2024

Another hugely successful Careers Fair at The Ashcombe School unfolded on 25th September 2024, with a wider than ever range of Higher and Further Education, company and carer stands in Ranmore Hall, the Library and the gym.  With over 500 students and parents attending and 120 exhibitors, the school was buzzing.

In addition to the plethora of different industries and opportunities, there were several seminar talks throughout the  evening, with standing room only for most. Topics included Why and Which University?, All About Apprenticeships, Personal Statements and Careers in Space.

The Fair provides a wonderful opportunity for students from Year 9 upwards, and their parents, to really explore and be inspired by the breadth of careers available to them, and finding out what is needed to get there.  It is all part of 

Education, Health& Beauty, Sport & Leisure, Armed Forces, Finance, lots of STEM , Property and Construction, Law - the list is endless . There is a link below to the full Programme for more inspiration - big names included CGI, Pfizer, Kuoni, Gatwick Airport, Axa, Virgin Atlantic, but it is the many smaller niche skills that add an extra dimension.  Many are local to Dorking and we also welcome back each your Alumni who are keen to share their career stories with current students.

A great evening which was helped to go smoothly by our very able 6th Formers acting as stewards.
