Ashcombe Singers on stage at Dorking Halls

The Ashcombe Singers had the pleasure of being invited to sing as the guest Secondary School Choir for the Surrey Arts Primary Schools Music Festival at Dorking Halls on Monday 29th April 2024.

Over 35 students are regularly involved in Ashcombe Singers and 30 of them came along to Dorking Halls to perform. The audience was very appreciative, and the group also had 200 Primary School students sitting on the stage in front of them, who all turned around in awe of their performance.

The group sang Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol and This is Me from The Greatest Showman with solos from Will, Riley, Stanley, and Arthur in Year 7. They all sang brilliantly, followed by the equally impressive four 6th Form students who sang She Used to Be Mine which was really moving.

Since the performance, we have received lots of positive feedback from people at the concert who felt Ashcombe Singers did a sterling job and really made some of the Primary students eager to get involved when they move forward into Secondary School. It has been wonderful to see singing at The Ashcombe grow over the past year through the School Production, Music lessons and extracurricular groups and we hope to build on this as we begin work on our next School Production, The Addams Family.

Ashcombe Singers meet on Friday afternoon from 3.40pm to 4.15pm in B6, and Community Choir on  Friday at 8.20am in the Library. All are welcome to attend, and we can guarantee fun, laughter and music.

Well done to all involved.
