Ashcombe School Uniform
The Ashcombe School expects and encourages every pupil to look smart at all times which includes travelling to and from school.
The School requires all parents to purchase items as indicated and the pupils to wear the items listed below in the correct manner.
Following a full review of uniform, which took place with pupils, parents and staff, the governors approved a revised uniform to be phased in, starting with Year 7, from September 2007.
Year 8 and 9 pupils may switch to the new items of uniform (jumper with logo and pleated skirt) from September if they wish. It has been agreed that when a current item is to be replaced it must meet the requirements as set out in the 2007 uniform list below (i.e.pleated skirt and jumper with a logo). The current straight skirt must be the correct length of no more than 8cms above the knee and must not have been significantly altered.
The same applies to Year 10 and 11 pupils but the girls have the option of wearing a pleated or straight PTA skirt. The pleated skirt must be knee length and the straight skirt must be the correct length of no more than 8cms above the knee and must not have been significantly altered.
From September 2008 all pupils in Years 7, 8 and 9 will be expected to wear the uniform listed below. We are very appreciative of those families who fully support and uphold our current uniform standards. It is our intention to ensure that, from September, all pupils meet the expectations outlined in this document fully, and at all times. Whilst we wish to avoid conflict we will be firm and will take action to ensure standards are met. Parents will be contacted if their child arrives at school incorrectly dressed. A note should be provided if there is a difficulty with an item of uniform.
