Dorking Schools Language Development Group

One of the most successful outcomes of the ethos of co-operation among schools in the Dorking area was the formation of the Dorking Schools Language Development Group. The DSLDG Committee meets regularly and, among many activities, arranges language-based INSET for local teachers and parent and child after-school classes. It also arranges events such as the 'Big Sing' which involves all the local Primary Schools.

Dorking Schools Sustainable Development Group

In 2006 the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) described a sustainable school as one that 'is guided by the principle of care: care for oneself, care for each other and care for the environment'

The Dorking Schools Sustainable Development Network provides an opportunity for all schools to share information and resources on environmental education.

Primary School Language Resources

Largely through the efforts of the MFL Outreach Teacher, the DSLDG has built up a stock of resources suitable for Key Stage 1 and 2 teachers to use as they introduce their pupils to foreign languages.
